NYX Hotel Edinburgh has just opened its doors, inviting guests to relax in unapologetic style. This is the group’s first Scottish location, launched on the back of an ambitious rebranding campaign to bring the Edinburgh’s creative edge to life.
“Edinburgh has always thrived on art, music and culture,” Simone Villari, Hotel Manager at NYX Hotel Edinburgh, says. “With NYX Hotel Edinburgh, our ambition is to capture that spirit and create a hotel that feels bold, vibrant and uniquely Scottish.”
Ciaran Lavery and his construction team are behind the impressive build. Mid-century leather furniture is offset by bright colours and brave patterns in rugs and soft furnishings. Vibrant murals are splashed across the walls in NYX Hotel Edinburgh’s 125 rooms and suites. Underlit, plush DREAM beds bring warmth to spaces that could otherwise feel a little overwhelming.

A standout feature of NYX Hotel Edinburgh is its Clash bar and restaurant, which enjoys industrial-chic interiors and, of course, more ambitiously patterned walls. Lighting is low and moody, with task lamps spotlighting the tables so guests can actually see their food and drinks. Bright pink banquet seating packs a punch.
“With the Edinburgh Fringe Festival just around the corner, this is a particularly exciting time to open,” says Simone. “The city comes alive with creativity, culture and an electric atmosphere, attracting performers, artists and visitors from around the world.
“That energy is at the heart of the NYX brand, and we’re excited to become part of the experience and welcome guests looking to immerse themselves in everything Edinburgh has to offer.”
The new NYX Hotel Edinburgh brings the brand’s growing UK and Ireland portfolio — including London, Dublin Portobello and Dublin Christchurch — together under a single creative vision, with little additions that celebrate the unique character of each destination. The space will also host weekly DJ sessions from the very best, and up-and-coming, artists in Edinburgh, keeping the atmosphere alive late into the night.
