Designed by some of the world’s famous architects, such as Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid, Maggie’s Centres provide a haven for those affected by cancer, including friends and family of patients.
Now the award-winning architecture has inspired super lightweight scarves made from 100% cashmere. Designed by luxury Scottish weaver Begg & Co, four limited editions have taken their lead from different design elements of the centres, from the straight clean lines which feature in all the centres to the labyrinth patterns in the garden at Maggie’s Dundee. Scottish broadcaster and Honorary Patron for Maggie’s Kirsty Wark approached Begg & Co with the idea.
The scarves are available from Begg & Co (www.beggandcompany.com); Fenwicks, 63 New Bond Street, London and Fenwicks Newcastle, 39 Northumberland Street, Newcastle upon Tyne (www.fenwick.co.uk); and Jane Davidson, 52 Thistle Street Edinburgh (www.janedavidson.co.uk). Priced from £235, all proceeds go to Maggie’s.
