Awell dressed table is the beginning of all good dinner parties. This is perhaps even more true when it comes to eating outside. With bright sunshine or candle-lit evenings, now is the time to showcase tableware and accessories. Start from the ground up, beginning with rugs. There are plenty of practical options in varying sizes, styles and finishes. Furniture (accompanied by cushions and throws for comfort) needn’t be rattan or plastic. Alternative water-resistant pieces are out there. Finish off the table with striking dinnerware then embellish it with candles and informal sprigs and flowers. The theme of your outside dining area should be an extension of the interior. Keep it consistent by taking a cue from a colour or pattern inside your home.
There is a vast amount of garden furniture available, and it’s not all in the usual, conventional style…
