More than 27,000 visitors descended on designjunction’s new home at King’s Cross this autumn to check out the latest happenings in the world of design. The fresh location itself was impressive; venues such as the Canopy and Cubitt House wowed both exhibitors and visitors, and the incredible GRID façade, by Satellite Architects, was a major talking point. Despite the expansive nature of the show (there was work from more than 200 brands), there seemed to be a real sense of community and camaraderie among the exhibitors, which made for an intimate atmosphere. As for the exhibited pieces themselves, many of them were practical and functional as well as brilliantly conceived, making them useful and therefore completely necessary.
