It was following two traumatic experiences that Scottish painter Alison McWhirter found her craft. After nursing her fiancé back from an unexplained illness abroad and subsequently, learning of her father’s terminal cancer, she returned to painting, working with flowers, as a form of therapy following her ordeal. Today, her work is highly sought-after and is collected globally. Sixty of her works will be on show in London this winter.
