Lairdsland Primary School, Kirkintilloch - Walters & Cohen Architects

The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland awards are eagerly anticipated each year, but this year’s dinner was particularly poignant as it commemorated RIAS’ Centenary year. The winners (11 of them) were varied in nature, including the Forsinard Lookout Tower in Sunderland by Icosis Architects and Lairdsland Primary School in Kirkintilloch by Walters & Cohen Architects (pictured). Willie Watt, judging panel chair and President of the RIAS, said of the winners: “this is a list that fully demonstrates the privilege of living in our magnificent wee country and just how architects have embraced the responsibility that brings with it.”
