A young Scottish artist has gone back to nature to create a brand new body of work called Nocturnes & Botanics. Calum McClure, 28, won the prestigious Jolomo Award for Landscape Painting just a year after he graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2011. That same year, one of Scotland’s most prestigious and private galleries, The Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh, offered him his first solo exhibition. For this new work, the Glasgow-based artist, the grandson of acclaimed Scottish painter, David McClure, has been rooting around in Benmore Botanic Garden, near Dunoon.
