This may look like a sculpture, but it is actually a fully functioning seat. The Fish Bone chair by artist Adam Birch is hewn by hand from eucalyptus wood. The artist’s previous employment added a great deal to his current endeavours – his apprenticeship in forestry led to his own firm of tree surgeons, providing him with an endless supply of raw material. The shape of each chair is informed by the natural shape of the tree from which it came, so it is the perfect way to bring the outdoors in. £2,550.
