Ilove that my job lets me be creative all day long, and that I am making something that is part of someone’s big day. What we create can really change the look of an event or a wedding venue, turning a blank canvas into something spectacular. We are very lucky at Planet Flowers. It’s rare to get a customer who doesn’t appreciate our work or who doesn’t want the flowers to be the focus of their day. We’ve created designs for some amazing events. For the launch of Haig Club, the David Beckham whisky, at Gilmerton House, we were asked to make it look as if our flowers had been poured down the chimney and were cascading out of the fireplace. That was pretty special. You need an eye for design to be a florist. You also need to be able to work for long hours in the cold.
