London-based studio Ting has an ingenious way of repurposing old, worn leather belts: transforming them into tiles. The effect, developed over a decade of trial and error, is glossy, skinny planks that look like highly polished wood. Each belt is chosen by hand, to make sure its leather is durable enough, then it’s cleaned and has its metal removed before being formed into tiles.
And, if you ever tire of the look, Ting can recycle the tiles once again. £72 per square foot.
