Artists raise funds for Marie Curie

Glen Scouller

A brand new fundraising event takes place this May, Art for Care, and is being organised by Marie Curie Cancer Care. Art for Care is the brainchild of May Storrie, the wife of the late Donald Storrie who lost his life to cancer and was also a prominent Glasgow business man and a Patron of the charity. Fifty pieces of artwork will be on display by Muriel Barclay, Gerard Burns, Marion Drummond and Glen Scouller, alongside art and jewellery from up-and-coming designers and artists. Each artist and designer will donate a minimum of 50% of the sale of each work. Blair & Sheridan jeweller has created 100 limited edition silver daffodils especially for the event and also a one-off golden daffodil with a diamond in the middle. If the £20,000 target is raised then over 1,000 hours of Marie Curie nursing care will be funded in Scotland.
